Responsibilities : DescriptionManages a team of residential first or second mortgage underwriters ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Has approval authority for more complex loan requests and exceptions to policy. Has responsibility for operations management including Hoshin goals, load leveling, staffing, coaching and performance management. May help coordinate on-site investor audits.

Requirements :. Five to seven years experience as a mortgage underwritero Three to five years FHA underwriting experience with Direct Endorsement Certificationo Two to three years supervisory / managerial experienceo Knowledge / understanding of key secondary market and investorso Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lendingo Knowledge of FNMA / FHMC guideines, policies and procedureso Knowledge of VA lending regulationso Thorough understanding of credit and an ability to review complex financial documentso Ability to assess an individual's credit worthiness while adhering to all regulatory and compliance requirementso Ability to make credit recommendations / exceptionso Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment, while practicing sound lending judgmento Strong analytical skillso Exellent problem solving skillso Strong written and verbal communications skillso Teamwork and customer service skills a musto Self-motivated and highly organizedo Ability to prioritize multiple competing taskso Flexibility to work extended hours during heavy workload periodso.
