Responsibilities and Requirements : Degree and area of specialization:BS required. Masters preferred in Agroecology or Plant Sciences number of years and type of relevant work experience:One year relevant experience. This individual must be familiar with organic farming. Agricultural production experience is necessary. The candidate must be competent at conducting literature searches for information in published sources and have excellent communication skills.Principal duties:Actively participate in field research investigating management of organic cropping systems. The employee will specifically be employed to; 1) Oversee organic cropping research trials on farm sites (25%); 2) Oversee farmer cooperators to ensure experimental data is collected appropriately (25%); 3) Summarize data collected in experiments and conducting appropriate statistical analyses (25%); 4) Prepare for the publication of research reports, outreach materials, and website communication and maintenance (25%). The individual will be expected to function efficiently and independently with minimal supervision. Funding is currently available for a 12-month position at 65% appointment. Continued appointment will be contingent on funding. Additional information: A criminal background check will be conducted prior to hiring.
