Responsibilities : The Senior Systems Engineers role is to support the FAA data communications O&IT team in definition, development & implementation of the data communications requirements baselines.The Sr. Systems Engineer will review concepts & requirements as well as industry standards to ensure that the requirements flow satisfies the clients needs.Essential Job Functions Applies systems engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test or evaluate data communications systems; review and prepare system engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation Applies system engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests or evaluates automated data processing related to engineering or functional requirements of associated support or information systems.

Requirements :Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems and at least seven years of experience performing the foregoing systems engineering functions an extensive background in Systems Engineering and the requirements development process is required. Substantial knowledge of Air Traffic Operations, operational safety, human factors, and excellent skills in technical writing/editing is highly beneficially to the program efforts.Good communication and presentation skills Ability to be a team player, as well as an independent worker Initiator and proactive thinker
