Responsibilities : This position will be responsible for financially clearing patients at hospital bedside to obtain point of service cash payment or determine eligibility for various governmental or nongovernmental programs. Conducts interviews with patients and/or family members.Performs financial clearance function including, but not limited to, negotiating and collecting point of service payments (i.e. co-pays, deductibles, self-pay compact rates) or link to government programs and financial assistance.Records and maintains complete documentation of activities performed on account while in-house.Notifies hospital case management, social services and admissions staff of case screening determinations and outcomes via verbal and written communication.Other duties as assigned.Conifer Health Solutions is currently seeking a Patient Financial Counselor at Piedmont Medical Center located in Rock Hill, SC.  This position will be responsible for financially clearing patients at hospital bedside to obtain point of service cash payment or determine eligibility for various governmental or nongovernmental programs. Conducts interviews with patients and/or family members.Performs financial clearance function including, but not limited to, negotiating and collecting point of service payments (i.e. co-pays, deductibles, self-pay compact rates) or link to government programs and financial assistance.

Requirements :High School diploma or equivalent 1 to 2 years work experience with Hospital Admitting, Hospital business office, or related areas.Working familiarity with the rules and regulations pertaining to Federal, State and County programsP/C systems literate including, but not limited to, Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word programsAbility to work independentlyExcellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the clear understanding of the English languageDetail oriented, with strengths in dealing with multiple facilities.
