The IT Operations team is responsible for supporting the technical infrastructure for the company, and consists of Windows System Administrators, Linux System Administrators, and Network Engineers. This team manages 300+ Linux and Windows servers and associated network infrastructure in a high-availability environment.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sr. Systems Administrator will be responsible for providing senior level administration and support of the core Linux environment. This position is responsible for:


1. Supporting the core Linux environments. This includes the administration, design and troubleshooting of the core Linux server infrastructure and communications network.
2. Establishing and managing network hardware. This includes the management BigIPs, load balancers and email delivery systems.
3. Establishing business continuity standards. This includes the creation of backup and recovery standards and the creation of server/network redundancy standards


Additional duties include:

· Establishing and managing development environments for software engineers, including creation of environments and installation of software.
· Being “on-call” 24/7, to respond immediately to any system failures, within a rotating schedule.
· Assist developers in troubleshooting issues related to performance of custom designed software
· Research and plan for future expansion, including software and hardware technologies
· Assist with the troubleshooting of network and office administration technologies
· Assist in maintaining hardware infrastructure including data center management.

CANDIDATE OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking, hands-on senior level technician, with at least:

· 5+ years of system administration experience on a Linux platform.
· 3+ years with DNS, SMTP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, GRE), transfer (SSH, SCP, Rsync) with Cisco technology.
· 2+ years experience with setup/configuration/maintenance with BIND and external DNS services
· 3+ years of experience with Perl or shell scripting.
· 2+ years experience building and managing load-balanced web server clusters with Apache, PHP, and MySql.
· 2+ years experience with backup and recovery at an enterprise-level.
· 2+ years experience of building, managing, and responding to monitoring systems measuring critical system performance.
· Experience managing cloud computing environments a plus.
