Intensive experience in analysis, support, configuration, and maintenance of LAN and microcomputer applications is required. This would include specific experience in the disciplines listed under duties. Specific knowledge of the hardware/software systems in use by NETC. Hardware and software components and system maintenance shall include LAN workstation, server, or other components related to the LAN system and end-user microcomputer workstations. Experience may include cable (Fiber, Coax. Twisted-Pair), workstation components (Interface Cards, floppy and hard disk, drivers) installation; configuration (Multiple Access Units (MAUs), Attachment Unit Interfaces (AUls), hubs, gateways, routers, bridges); network and microcomputer software (operating systems, office automation applications); testing system components, tracing and repairing outages, diagnostics, and minor hardware repair. Specialized - Experience should include diagnostics and trouble shooting of related LAN components on a minimum of three (3) IEEE type LANs over the last five (5) years. Specific knowledge of the hardware/software systems in use by NETC. Supervisory - If proposed as a Task Leader, the customer service analyst should possess twelve (12) months experience supervising microcomputer/LAN support/maintenance or other operations personnel and related ADP support activities. Please note that General, Specialized and Supervisory Work Experience may be earned concurrently. Educational-Requirements“ The customer service analyst should possess a 4-year bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related curriculum or major field of study or equivalent directly related work experience. This should include at least 80 classroom hours of related technical instruction. Desired skills Knowledge of NETC client. Knowledge of NMCI requirements. Specific Job Description Responsible for providing support to end-user community on hardware, software and network related problems, questions, and use. Evaluates, and analyzes data to determine feasible solutions; and implements solution(s) including testing and installation of new or enhanced hardware and software for LAN, LAN related systems, and microcomputers to meet customer requirements. May provide training and over-site to less experienced personnel. Evaluates client training requirements in the use of installed and planned hardware, commercial off-the-shelf software, and network products, develops and provides training applicable to those requirements. Configures DOS and applications software and interfaces for microcomputers to be used in conjunction with other computer hardware and various systems such as networks, CAD digitizing devices. May be required to analyze requirements and implement solutions for facility management applications in a specified media. Performs diagnostic testing and system troubleshooting on LAN equipment and microcomputer systems. May repair, replace, install and provide maintenance of LAN, LAN related, and microcomputer components. Maintains hardware/software performance as required. Performs server and workstation connection, configuration, integration, and testing. Schedules and performs preventive maintenance on all hardware systems as outlined in OEM specifications and maintains maintenance log of all repairs and replacements required. Upgrades system components as required. Exercises independent judgment and decision making to ensure problem ownership, and resolution, and promotes end-user satisfaction. May be a Task Leader.
