Responsibilities and Requirements : This position is Limited Term due to the Internal Hiring Freeze. Tenure may change to Permanent Full Time in the future. A Library Technical Assistant (Safety) is responsible for the daily operation of the inmate Libraries. Circulation of Library materials, including processiang and repair of returned items; upkeep and maintenance of circulation files; distribution of recreational reading materials; training and supervsion of inmate clerks; processing of parole lists and institutional transfer lists to identify departing inmates with books checked out; processing and distributing of overdue notices. The LTA will reshuffle books and shelf-reading to maintain books in proper order; mail pick-up, check-in and process new materials, including typing of spine labels, book pockets and circulation cards for new books. Maintain order and supervise the conduct of three inamtes. List Appointments and Lateral Transfers and Training and Development Assignments will be considered.
