Responsibilities : Loss Mitigation provides assistance to mortgagors in default while mitigating loss for the investor. The staff members interact each day with customers, attorneys, and third parties via telephone combining collection, negotiation, and customer service skills. Loss Mitigation Underwriters will review and analyze customer financial documentation and propose Modification solutions to assist customers in retaining homeownership.  Performs the following activities:Review and analyze borrower documentation to determine income and repayment capacity; Assess borrower hardship, analyze housing expenses and determine proper loan resolution; Determine Modification recommendation within system based on income/debt analysis; Maintain responsibility for timely and accurate system updates and loan status maintenance; Complete active file audit reviews, quality control reports, and post closing audit functions; Calculate delinquency, complete mock escrow analysis, analyze Modification scenarios and proposals. 

Requirements : 2 years of Mortgage Underwriting experience required; Loss Mitigation/Default Servicing experience a plus; Detail oriented with a strong ability to work in a fast paced environment; Prior HMDA experience knowledge preferred; Strong PC skills, knowledge of Excel required; Strong organization and time management skills; Ability to multi-task, adapt well to a changing work environment and strong communication skills; Ability to work well in a team environment; College degree preferred and or equivalent work experience.
