Responsibilities : Manage outside full service vendor as necessary to complete production on select number of assigned titlesBefore turnover, analyze project proposals and develop tentative production plans based on schedule, complexity, and budgetEvaluate text and art manuscript for production readinessDevelop a production plan and determine all production needs, including copyediting requirementsCreate design survey and participate in design reviewNegotiate with and hire editorial freelancers, establish rates, set schedules, and monitor and evaluate their performanceServe as primary author contact and coordinate all author tasks and schedulingMonitor all costs throughout the production process and report on and resolve potential or actual budget overruns in a timely mannerMaintain deadlines on all paperwork, including transmittal forms, revised schedules, transmittal budgets, page-ending notices, pagination guides, page-ending budgets, and project audits. 

Requirements :Bachelor's Degree1 -2 years as Production Editor or equivalent, preferably with college textbook experienceStrong team player with a strong background in collaborating successfully with internal and external partnersProven ability to make effective decisions on projects in a consistent and independent fashionStrong problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to analyze solutions quickly.
