Responsibilities : Occupational SummaryPerform a variety of security and safety related functions while involved in the safeguarding of employees, patients, visitors, physicians, and property. Work PerformedPerform a variety of duties to include, but not limited to floor patrols within the hospital as well as medical offices owned/operated by DUHS Conduct campus patrols to include the parking deck. Provide temporary relief for the PBX Operator. Respond to calls for morgue duty (i.e. transport deceased patient to the morgue and responsible for proper release of the body). Upon request, collect patient valuables and secure in the property room safe until called for. Routinely provide escort service to staff and visitors. Provide weekend delivery of newspapers to hospital floors Daily lock and unlock of numerous buildings on campus. Provide motor vehicle assist to staff and or visitors (i.e. jump start vehicles and assist with flat tires). Respond to all alarm activation's and investigate cause; conduct monthly testing of alarms. Assist in conducting all fire drills within the hospital. Upon request, provide patient transport of Radiation Oncology patients Provide one on one observation of psychiatric patients. Assist in patient restraint (i.e. Emergency Department, Psychiatric unit). Act as Hazmat first responders. Responsible for enforcing all parking regulations and traffic control Responsible for the collection of all lost and found items and produce the proper documentation and location of owner of property when possible. Responsible for conducting fire drills. Conduct monthly ground surveys and report findings. Provide after hour visitation escorts. Keep a daily activity log of all activities and calls for service.

Requirements :EducationWork requires communication and analytical skills normally acquired through a high school education. ExperienceOne year experience in a security related field preferred Degrees, Licensures, CertificationsMust have valid North Carolina driver's license and good driving record. Must successfully pass an extensive background investigation.
