Responsibilities : As a Municipal Credit Strategist you will utilize your fixed income and municipal bond experience and analytical abilities to provide credit specific analysis, formulating actionable investment strategies, and municipal portfolio allocation strategies. Your work will support RBC Wealth Management Financial Consultants, Municipal Trading, and the Municipal Underwriting/Banking Group.Key Accountabilities:Provide ongoing analysis of the municipal bond market to: identify value and/or areas of concern, monitor current developments, and communicate the effect/impact of these developments to appropriate RBC Wealth Management and Capital Markets constituency.Author credit strategy pieces that identify actionable ideas and strategies for FCs and their clients. These would be either stand-alone pieces or part of overall strategy pieces written by the Fixed Income Strategies Group.Work with the appropriate Trading Desks in providing credit analysis on secondary issues.Work with the Municipal Banking Group to analyze new issues and/or gather data on issues which RBC Capital Markets is considering underwriting. Once a decision has been made to underwrite, the Municipal Bond Credit Strategist will be required to provide written analysis for FCs to use in determining which clients are suitable for this type of investment.

Requirements :Bachelors degree, preferably in Economics, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration with a demonstrated record of high achievement.Five to seven years of tax exempt fixed income credit research/analysis experience.Understanding of the municipal underwriting, trading and sales process.Demonstrated quantitative and analytical abilities; excellent knowledge of finance, statistics, and accounting preferred.Strong computer skills as well as exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Series 7 licensed.
