Responsibilities : Under direction of the Building Engineer or Shift Supervisor, the incumbent will provide for the daily HVAC maintenance operations and activities for all assigned facilities. The incumbent receives and evaluates work orders and requests, investigates requests or problems where appropriate, and completes the necessary repairs. Facilitates the repair and maintenance of all heating refrigeration & air conditioning systems.Essential Duties & FunctionsCapable of maintaining numerous mechanical, electrical and electronic components; including chillers, compressors, motors, boilers, oil, and propane fired furnaces, heaters, pumps, fans, ducts, pipes, steam, condensate, thermostats, switches etc.The mechanic must be able to diagnose and correct problems throughout the entire system by adjusting controls to recommended settings and test the performance using necessary special tools and equipment.The mechanic will service and operate all types of residential, commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, climate controlled automation systems, energy management control systems and program control systems.Must be able to read and follow blueprints, design specifications and manufacturers instructions to install compressors, motors condensing units, evaporators, piping and other components.Individual must be able to interpret wiring diagrams in order to locate failures.Uses a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments.

Requirements :Four (4) years experience in the HVAC trade in service and maintenance.Journeyman LicenseTechnician shall hold no less than a Universal CFC certification, and will carry this certification on their person at all times.Thorough knowledge of refrigeration, chillers, HVAC, pneumatics, steam, condensate systems.Thorough knowledge of National and Local Building, HVAC Codes.High school graduate or equivalent. Work experience may be substituted for education.Familiarity with basic mathematical functions is required.
