Responsibilities : The Business Advisory and Assurance Services department ofCharming Shoppes has an opportunity for a SeniorFinancial Auditor.He/She will be involvedpreparing audits by establishing audit objectives, developing auditstrategies and creating or adapting audit programs to assure theefficiency and effectiveness of the Company's system of internalcontrols and to evaluate whether controls are designed and operatingeffectively in mitigating risks that effect the organization.The Senior Financial Auditorwill:Interact and develop trusted relationships with SeniorManagement and associate personnel.Perform integrated risk-based financial and operationalaudits/advisory services and special projects, including coordinationwith IT Auditors.Gain an understanding of the organization, its businessobjectives as well as key business processes and risks.Assist in the planning of audits, preparation of auditprograms, performing testing procedures and coordinating with ITAuditors, drafting audit reports and assessing management actionplans.Assist Business Assurance and Advisory Services management inidentifying the major processes and controls that impact audit focusand selecting and prioritizing specific audits.Perform research in technical and non-technical auditareas where work programs or experience does not exist, including theidentification of key audit objectives, scope, approach and timing.Gather audit evidence and prepare audit workpapers andfollow-up on audit findings from previous audits in accordance withdepartmental guidelines.Assist Company management and Business Assurance andAdvisory Services in connection with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act Sections404 and 302 compliance.Assist the external auditors with interim and year-endsubstantive and internal control testing.

Requirements :3 years of experience in public accounting and/orinternal auditPrimary experience should include publicly-held orprivately-held manufacturing and consumer products relatedcompaniesRetail, distribution and proprietarycredit card experience is considered a plus.Bachelor degree in accounting or related field required. MBAand/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification considered aplus.CPA or currently working towards passing the CPAexamination.Strong analytical skills and ability to interact withconfidence, poise and diplomacy with various functional groups andall levels of management.
