Responsibilities : A Senior scientist will be responsible for analyzing terabytes of data and billions of rows to discover correlations and patterns to come up with algorithms and strategies for customer driven search and navigation. Typical candidates for this role have not only developed data mining algorithms but also built large scale systems incorporating them. This is a hands-on role and if you have dealt with large amounts of sparse data and love to work with a team of smart engineers, you will love this. The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree in Computer Science or related field with experience in natural language processing, computational linguistics, or information retrieval/extraction. The candidate will create a world-class web data-mining system, capable of extracting sentiments, topics, meaning and structure from unstructured web documents and data. Create a system that can efficiently and effectively discover, and understand domain-specific knowledge in hundreds of millions of web pages. The successful candidate will implement the crawling, data mining, and machine-learning algorithms. Strong programming skills are required. At least two years of experience working with real life machine learning environment. A strong research record is a plus. We look for people who are flexible, learn quickly, and love getting into the details, while working in a fast paced environment

Requirements : MS / Ph.D. in computer science (with emphasis in data mining / machine learning / artificial intelligence / mathematics) 6 years industry experience in data mining and machine learning on large amounts of sparse data. Must have experience in Hadoop/MapReduce Education/Training PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science related to machine learning, data mining, or semantic search Background in software development a must Experience Experience with search, navigation, inventory and pricing strategies Structured thinker, Effective communicator, Excellent programming skills Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization techniques, and object-oriented programming Experience developing software using Java, C/C on Linux Experience with hadoop / hive, DB2, MySQL Predictive modeling Linear algebra /matrix operations.
