Click Here to Apply OnlineResponsibilities : Provides legal advice and counseling on all labor and employment matters; aids in the interpretation of and compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. Provides legal support to Vice President of Human Resources Compliance. Monitors legal developments in the labor and employment arena and provides updates and training to corporate and property labor relations and Human Resources personnel. Provides information, recommendations and support regarding proposed legislation and/or regulations relating to labor, employment and Human Resources matters. Provides strategic guidance and support on labor and employment matters to company and to subsidiary organizations. Exercises discretion and independent judgment commensurate with specialized legal skills and experience. Performs other related duties as directed.
Requirements : Juris Doctor Degree and 7+ years of progressively responsible legal experience specializing in labor and employment law practice, including experience with labor negotiations and labor arbitrations and with representation before and other state and federal agencies, as well as before federal and state courts. Knowledge of labor negotiation strategies and principles of contract interpretation and implementation; litigation strategies and principles in labor and employment law matters; and comprehensive substantive knowledge and understanding of labor and employment law. Ability to negotiate union contracts and manage labor dispute and grievances; analyze and apply legal principles and precedents to legal issues; perform legal research; evaluate alternatives and make sound recommendations; prepare clear, concise and complete legal documents, reports correspondence and other materials; exercise initiative and independent judgment; make effective hearing and other public presentations; establish and maintain effective working relationships. Excellent research and writing skills; ability to prepare clear, concise and complete legal documents, reports, correspondence and other communications materials on complex legal issues; ability to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms; ability to make effective public presentations.
