Responsibilities and Requirements : Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California.In good standing with the Medical Board of California.Board Certified in primary care or appropriate specialtyAt least 5 years of unsupervised clinical practice in a managed care setting.MBA or similar post-graduate degree desirable.At least two years experience in a medical director utilization role in a California health plan or California medical groupSupervisory experienceExpertise with Microsoft Office Suite in a Windows desktop environmentStrong analytical skills: spread sheets, variance analysis and significance testing.Computer literate in terms of core transaction systems for claims and authorizationsExcellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.Proven ability in a medical leadership positioninitiative, effectiveness, and credibility with other physicians.Flexible and able to prioritize day-to-day position requirements.Comfortable with multiple accountabilities and matrix managementFor ease of objectivity in the job, not a current member of the hospital medical staffs, but qualified to obtain membership if desired.
