Responsibilities and Requirements : Internship, Fall 2009The intern will conduct legal and/or policy research and write memoranda summarizing their findings; identify and research best practices, either legislative, regulatory, or policy positions that other jurisdictions have successfully implemented to address problems that our project teams are considering; conduct and report on interviews with experts in project areas; assist in drafting sections of reports; attend and report on community outreach efforts and various public meetings and hearings; and identify and research policy problems in the District for potential new projects. Applicants should be rising 2Ls and 3Ls. Students with an interest in D.C. policy issues and/or public interest law in general are encouraged to apply. Should have strong research, analysis, and writing skills. Should be able to commit at least 10-12 hours per week.
