Responsibilities : Conducts facility training including new employee orientation, refresher, and continuing education using approved training curriculum and procedures, audiovisual equipment, and practice models as appropriate in order to prepare new employees for work and to aid veteran staff to maintain skills. Training will be supervised routinely by the Director. Evaluates employee competencies and skills during training to determine if employee is capable of performing job tasks in a safe and appropriate manner. Documents class attendance and participation as outlined in the departmental policy using rosters, class assessments, and performance sheets to ensure accurate documentation and reports. Records will be routinely monitored by the Director and during external reviews Maintains department equipment per guidelines so that equipment remains clean and in good repair. The Director will routinely inspect the equipment to ensure proper maintenance. Conducts needs assessments bimonthly using follow-up questionnaire forms to determine additional training needs for new staff and performance improvement and enhancement for veteran staff. Completed assessments will be turned in to the departmental director for tracking purposes. Establishes training schedules and coordinates training programs to meet the needs.

Requirements :Initial Selection Criteria:Experience in training work. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in human resources, business administration, education, communication, journalism, technical writing, or a related field is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another. Certification as an instructor for CPR and Prevention and Management of aggressive Behavior is required within the first three months of employment.
