Responsibilities : Responsible for providing career counseling services to current Vanderbilt students and alumni. Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external constituents to promote Career Center activities and facilitate internship programs and full-time placement opportunities.

Requirements :This position requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 36 months of relevant experience. J.D. strongly preferred.Key Functions and Expected Performances:1. Serves as a Career Counselor to J.D. students.Provides counseling and advice to J.D. students in their career development. This includes resume evaluation, job strategy assistance, and ongoing coaching regarding networking and a broad range of career opportunities. Provides advice about various types of legal practice, internships and externships, and market hiring changes.2. Assumes sole responsibility for LL.M. Counseling ProgramThis includes resume evaluation, job strategy assistance, and ongoing coaching regarding networking and a broad range of career opportunities. Provides advice about various types of legal practice, internships and externships, and market hiring changes. Updates the Career Services Manual for LL.M. students Contacts employers annually to determine the LL.M. hiring market. Attends the International Interview Program (ISIP) in New York each January, and assumes full responsibility for Vanderbilt's participation.3. Provides counseling assistance to alumni as they search for lateral positions.Provides resume review.
