Responsibilities: Provide direction and guidance to clinical lab medical technologists and technicians and other technical personnel implementing, in a timely manner, clinical diagnostic products or services in compliance with industry regulations.Conduct assay system development, optimization and validation.Run experiments to evaluate new laboratory instrumentation and equipment for laboratory testing in cooperation with the equipment manufacturer.Prepare technical SOPs as required for Lab Ops and Medical Director review and approval.Prepare assay validation reports and other assay-related documentation as required by state and federal regulations.Work closely with Informatics personnel to develop computer programs and databases as required for assay execution, automation and data management.Assist and/or coordinate technical transfer of new assays and procedures to appropriate department.In close cooperation with chemistry department managers, assist, as needed, in the training of laboratory personnel on new procedures.(general chemistry, special chemistry, immuno-chemistry)Assist licensed Medical Technologists and Technicians in solving unresolved technical difficulties in assay implementation and routine operation, when such problems arise.Provide team leadership for designated personnel assigned to specific projects by the Lab Ops Director or Chemistry Technical Managers..Keep Lab Ops Director and Technical Managers informed about status of on going projects. .
