The Crisis Response Project, since 1996, has been dedicated to providing intensive crisis prevention, emergency response intervention, and follow-up services as support for Regional Center consumers with developmental disabilities such as autism, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy. CRP's goal is to provide crisis prevention, intervention, training, and follow-up services as support to community homes, day programs, and families. CRP works specifically to decrease police involvement and unnecessary hospitalizations, and to increase the success of consumers in the community and caregivers' ability to handle future crises. Also, to help address the mental health needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Many consumers that CRP serves are dual diagnosed with developmental disabilities and mental health disorders.

This is a full-time position.

Job Description:
1. Counsel and stabilize consumers and caregivers in crisis situations.
2. Maintain consistent communication with CRP Director and manage a caseload of consumers.
3. Assist in developing comprehensive crisis service plans of consumers.
4. Train care providers on crisis intervention strategies and behavioral techniques aimed at preventing, arresting, or stabilizing behavioral problems. Employ and teach positive behavioral strategies and model proper implementation of these behavioral strategies.
5. Assist in developing semi-annual assessments and exit plans.
6. Collect data in order to facilitate preparation of consumers' crisis plans.
7. Document all consumer interactions in weekly reports to the Regional Center.
8. Maintain statistical data on number of consumers served, the type of service provided, the number of 5150 holds, and the number of 5150 holds prevented.
9. Maintain consistent communication with caregivers and the Regional Center.
10. Attend weekly inter-disciplinary team meetings.
11. Attend in-service and outsourced training sessions.

Education and/or Experience Requirement:
Preferred: Master's Degree in a human services field.
Required: Bachelor's degree in a human services field, and two years of practical experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Preferable, work experience with those individuals on the autism spectrum; practical knowledge or experience in behavioral intervention. Spanish speaking preferred.

Licenses and/or Certificates:
Clean driving record and reliable transportation required. Current California driver's license and background check and/or other employment clearance requirements. Must be over 21 years of age to meet the minimum driving requirement.
