Senior Power Distribution Engineer
*BS in electrical engineering or related technical field Project management experience within manufacturing environment Solid electrical engineering experience related to power destruction systems in medium and high voltage - i.e. high (69 kV) and medium (2300 to 4160 v) Experience with electrical distribution equipment such as 12.5kV switchgear, distribution transformers, protective relays, motor control centers, motors, adjustable speed drives, and industrial lighting.

This position will join a solid engineering team and will have the opportunity to play a significant role in upcoming capital projects.
This is a senior level position and will mentor and develop newer engineers.
Growth potential is expansive especially if the candidate is mobile. Opportunities at other facilities or at the corporate office in Nashville, TN are molded in the career architecture plan.
This is a first shift position, typical hours are 7:00am-4:00pm but relatively flexible.
Bonus target is company based and designed to be achievable at 10% target and 20% maximum.
Merit increases are also evaluated on an annual basis.
Full relocation package available as well, and medical benefits starting day one.

Responsibilities:
Engineering:
Design and manage major projects such as new equipment installation, upgrades, etc. Projects range from $100K to $5M.
Analyze project requirements, identify and address design parameters, review engineering challenges and ensure solutions are timely and within budget.
Work closely with vendors, local utility company, consultants, corporate personnel, and manage external contractors on installations and maintenance.
Lead site electrical safety program; this includes maintaining site arc flash study, providing technical guidance on electrical safe work practices, and training personnel on electrical safety.
Creating design specifications and complete all needed documentation. Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed.
Design and troubleshoot high/medium voltage electrical distribution systems, including experience with electrical distribution equipment such as 12.5kV switchgear, distribution transformers, protective relays, motor control centers, motors, adjustable speed drives, and industrial lighting.
Familiarity with PLC programming and energy monitoring software.
Develop and administer site electrical practices, procedures, and preventative maintenance and reliability programs.
Give technical guidance on electrical design and installation for maintenance and production equipment capital projects.

Project Management:
Project assignments may include planning, designing, materials procurement, project management and project accounting (budgeting, estimating, forecasting).
Assist with engineering studies and investigations and in preparation of oral and written reports.
Electrical, software design for automation and safety systems.
Maintain project scope/schedule and identify scope creep.
Create documentation such as training documents, program backup, network diagrams, electrical drawings, etc.

Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
*5+ years related job experience designing electrical control system knowledge for automated equipment.
*Understanding of relevant electrical requirements and machine safety standards.
*Strong technically hands-on oriented engineer with clearly demonstrated experience and a track record of deploying modern power systems.
*Experience with power quality management and 480/4160V equipment energy optimization.
*Understanding of industry trends, direction and standards that guide new technology offerings, and uses technology and market intelligence to provide strategic recommendations on initiatives to achieve business objectives.
*Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
*Critical thinking with exceptional problem solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments.
*Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment.
