On behalf of our client a cultivation start-up, located in the fertile Salinas Valley, CA, we are seeking candidates for the position of Warehouse/Production Manager. This employers operation cultivates more than 40 strains and grows up to 2,000 pounds of flower each month. Its where 200,000 square feet of greenhouse plants are being harvested, skillfully cured, lovingly hand-trimmed and packaged. The Plant Manager will oversee the daily warehouse operations. They will be responsible for the timely coordination of the material from harvest to finished goods, including forecasting, ensuring material is sent and received from outside vendors, and coordinating the packaging team. They will also be overseeing material handling practices, sales orders procedures, and making improvements. This is a full-time (direct hire) position with full benefits package.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following;
Oversee daily Warehouse Operations, planning, and organization and ensure warehouse operations remain on schedule
Monitor and maintain a clean, organized, safe condition within the warehouse
Maintain proactive inventory levels to meet the sales demand
Monitor material handling practices
Understand and influence the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement, storage of all goods: Finished, Raw, Packaging, Operational supply materials, and equipment.
Advise employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped
Coordinate Material schedules with purchasing and production planning to ensure the best possible flow of materials both into and through the warehouse
Document and manage all processes involved in daily warehouse operations.
Support continuous improvement by analyzing, documenting, and improving material handling processes
Promote and sustain effective communication and collaboration between the materials warehouse and all other departments including production and sales
Encourage and maintain a cooperative work environment both within and outside of the warehouse team
Negotiate with Internal and External Customers and act as a liaison to ensure 100% Customer Satisfaction.
Determine system improvements to improve the operation

Ideal candidate will have the following skills, training and experience (a combination of same may be considered):
Three to five years experience working in a process-oriented warehouse/fulfillment operation or similar environment, including at least 1-2 years experience managing a team
Expert project management skills to smoothly accomplish company and team goals
Strengths in problem-solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
Understanding of best practices in assembly work, order fulfillment, cycle counting, receiving, and inventory management
Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills across different levels within a global organization
Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
Capable to work in a team environment and coordinate multiple tasks with conflicting priorities
