We are conducting a national search on behalf of our Midwestern high-tech manufacturing client for an Embedded Firmware Engineer. Our client company, founded in 1971, is a growth-oriented world leader in the design and manufacturing of electronic equipment used to make 32 nanometer semiconductors, implantable medical devices, missile guidance systems, aircraft landing gear, nanotechnology-based golf shafts, and much more. Significant military applications with endless additional commercial applications. This Embedded Firmware Engineer is needed to appropriately balance both hard and software, have knowledge and an appreciation of digital design and hardware and use of techniques in an electronic or controls setting (industrial automation and/or power supply). The position also involves extensive expertise and knowledge in VHDL, Verilog, Altera FPGA, PID control theory and modeling and C Language programming. Requirements: • 10 - 15 years experience in a power supply industry (and will substitute experience for education). • Expertise in digital circuit design, 8bit and beyond and mixed signal systems.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as: RS232, 485, etc., GPIB and MODBUS, PROFIBUS and others • Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering degree with computer emphasis a plus. Salary dependent on qualifications; full benefits provided.
