Position: Jr. Java Developer – LONDON AREA

Keys: Java, Standard SQL Commands, SOA, Web services

Location: London, Ontario – LOCAL CANDIDATES

This is a role for a junior programmer with some work experience in the IT field.

You love to program and learn new skills and you have a desire to work with Web services. Will accept recent grads, preferably with co-op experience that includes Java and strong SQL work experience and some knowledge of Web Services



Description:

· Work with web services infrastructure

· Implement SOA for projects

· Assist other developers, designers and analyst in developing new software, applications and programs with the main focdus on Java language

· Plan SDLC

· Assistance with documentation for requirements and specifications

· Research requirements of users and document.

· Write, translate and code software programs and application to specifications

· Run and monitor tests for error correction, debugging and finding areas for improvement

· Critical analysis of test result, deliver solutions

· Prepare and write reports, generate statistics.

· Aid in the development of user manuals and maintain them.

· Some overtime and travel may be required



Must Haves:

· College diploma or University Degree in computer science or software engineering (or 2 yrs related experience)

· Technical knowledge of Java, PL/SQL, and Ajax methodology.

· Troubleshooting experience (hands-on)

· Linux experience

· Oracle database experience

· Scrum and XP software familiarity

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Ability to research software issues and products.

· Detail-oriented



Asset:

Enterprise applications experience including Oracle Portal.





Locality:

You must live or be willing to live in London or surrounding area - Kitchener, Waterloo, Woodstock. Commuting from the GTA won’t cut it – it is a two hour drive each way.
