The City of Iola is now accepting applications for a Firefighter Recruit/Paramedic/EMT. Will be willing to train in Firefighter duties. General duties include firefighting, fire prevention, providing emergency medical care, and working with hazardous materials. Applicants should have a working knowledge of EMS systems including rescue and treatment procedures, basic/advanced life support techniques/application and skilled in the operation of required tools and equipment. Qualified applicants must be 21 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Kansas Class C Driver’s license with ability to obtain a Class B and have a current state/national Paramedic Certification. Successful candidates will be required to pass a physical exam including a drug screen. Salary range $33,083 to $44,763 plus overtime and benefits. Applications or resumes should be mailed to:
