Job Description
A Deputy Sheriff is responsible for the protection of life and property within the County of Hansford. A Deputy Sheriff is responsible for security of the county jail, proactively patrols all areas within the County of Hansford, enforces local, state, and federal laws, responds to and investigates calls for services, crash scenes, and crime scenes, makes arrests and serves warrants when necessary, and interacts with citizens in a professional manner to facilitate positive community relations.

Job Requirements
Applicants must meet TCLEOSE guidelines for licensing; must be 21 years of age; must have a valid Class C Texas Drivers License with an acceptable driving record; must possess a minimum of a Basic Peace Officers Certification from TCLEOSE at the time of employment; must pass a background investigation, drug screening, and physical; must have basic computer skills; and a proficiency with the Spanish language is preferred, but not mandatory.
