Company Description:

Our client is a family owned mid size manufacturer of high end upholstered furniture for the residential market. They have an impressive showroom at their headquarters just North of Toronto, where the person hired will be operating most of the time.


Job Description:

1. Scope of Position:

Provide full range of support activities in Company showroom related to “on-site” and special functions customer service.

2. Job Responsibilities:

a) Greet and assist showroom customers with product selection including styles and fabrics. Serve as the “first contact” between the Company and its customers.
b) Assist in maintaining showroom order and professional appearance. Ensure that showroom meets Company standards and supports external image.
c) Communicate with external advertisers and marketers. Provide updates and explanations of new styles, fabrics, design trends, industry developments and consumer behaviour.
d) Ensure that the appropriate marketing and sales materials are available for trade shows and other presentations.
e) Schedule and coordinate design and product knowledge tours and related activities.
f) Prepare and complete paperwork related to showroom orders and communicate with Customer Service as required.
g) Provide effective, professional, and courteous service.
h) Support trade shows, plant tours and other events as required.
i) Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

3. Similar experience in the furniture industry, for manufacturers or retailers.
4. Interior Designer/ Decorator credentials
5. excellent verbal and written communication skills
6. very good sales “presentation” and professional telephone manner
7. Excellent sense of aesthetics, composition, design and colour .
8. The ability to acquire and retain comprehensive product knowledge.
