Our client recently opened a specialized 22,000 sq ft furniture store in a prime location in the Northern GTA, and requires therefore additional staff. This contemporary designer oriented store will be open 7 days /week.

Job Description:

Summary:

This position has two main responsibilities. Both result in providing an aesthetically pleasing environment that is fashion forward, while at the same time, meets the consumers’ home furnishings needs. Developing and nurturing an ongoing business relationship with each customer and creating a pleasant shopping experience for all customers is essential.

Primary Duties:

•Visual Display –

- Maintain the showroom to ensure that it is always in its most optimal visual display. This will be in conjunction with the direction already established with the Visual Merchandiser that designed the layout, while at the same time, allows you the opportunity to offer new ideas for the floor.
- To work closely with the Merchandise Planner, Distribution Coordinator and the Receiver to ensure that new product that has been received will be placed on the floor quickly, efficiently and according to the overall Visual Merchandise Strategy.
- To place all incoming product on the showroom floor within 24 hours that it is received.
- To fill empty holes the same day they got sold off the floor.
- To work with and advise buyer of any ideas, suggestions that would improve the floor layout and visual display.


•In Home & In Store Design Consultant –

- To lead, offer and do both in home and in store design consultations to interested customers; thereby bring the company's Home philosophy to the home and increasing sales exponentially.
- To develop and implement the In Home Consultation policy.
- To use autocad and manual floor plans to assist in offering the best solutions for the consumer’s home: determine the needs of customer, suggest merchandise selection, suggest add on items.
- Includes: the initiating of contact with customer through to the completion of the transaction.
- Provide sales services on the sales floor when Design Consultants are unavailable.

Schedule:

•Full time employment. Requires evening, weekend, and holiday hours; where all full timers and part timers need to be flexible in working late nights and at least 1 weekend day per week.


Requirements:

•Must have interior designer degree, a strong fashion sense and excellent organizational skills.
•Must have basic computer skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong goal orientation.
•Previous sales experience in a fashion-related industry, such as furniture, home textiles, cosmetics, fine jewellery, fine clothing is an asset.
