Job Description
Performs mechanical inspections, repairs, and maintenance on all production/building machinery and equipment. Has an understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine shop tools.
Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance, routine checks and calibration on all plant equipment.
• Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment.
• Provide input on preventive/predictive maintenance programs
• Basic electricity 120V to 480V AC knowledge.
• Able to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustment or repair.
• Experience of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part. Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part. Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.
• Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
• Operates Power Industrial Vehicles (PIV), forklifts.
• Able to work independently/has a sense of urgency
• Good communication, proactive, and has good follow-up
• Positive attitude (can do attitude)
Required Skills
• Practical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Computer literacy required.
• Possess the ingenuity to plan, layout and perform all tasks necessary to install, repair and maintain machines in the printing industry.
• Excel at diagnosing equipment malfunctions and to have the ability to improvise, if necessary, to return equipment to production.
• Ability to work in a team environment is required.
• Available for work all three shifts, overtime and weekends if necessary.
Required Experience
• Minimum 3 years experience as an mechanic in an industrial environment
• Previous experience in the printing industry is a plus.
