The Estimator is responsible for all estimating and job costing functions for the company. Estimates labor and material costs based on specifications outlined in the sales order: Examines specifications, and sample layouts, and calculates production costs, using labor and material pricing schedules, and considering factors such as construction, tooling, material requirements, and inks to determine cost effective and competitive price. This position is responsible for establishing relationships with subcontractors for all outsourced projects. Confers with department heads and production personnel to develop or confirm information regarding various cost elements and to determine factors that affect post cost performance. Compiles and analyzes statistical data of post cost job performance to determine adherence to standards and budgeted forecast. This position is responsible for preparing reports, charts, and graphs of findings. Evaluates findings and makes recommendations to management regarding training needs, use of alternative materials or manufacturing methods to reduce costs.
Essential Functions:

Responsible for estimating bid requests using the companyˇ¦s estimating program.

Sourcing approved subcontractors and maintaining the subcontractor resource center.

Maintain detailed technical knowledge of our manufacturing capabilities and constantly increasing knowledge on the changes and advances of the label and packaging industries.

Maintain an understanding of flexographic printing, processes, services, pricing, and materials to ensure estimates accurately reflect expected performance.

Analyze job cost reports for inaccuracies in data entry, data collection, inventory, and/or manufacturing parameters; maintaining and creating various reports as needed.

Complete any reasonable request of management necessary to effectively operate the department/company.

Suggests improvements to estimating procedures, and acts to improve timeliness or reduce costs.

Ensures adherence to all quality control processes and procedures.
Qualifications:

Previous estimating experience preferred

Preferred 4 year degree and 2-4 years relevant experience.

High school diploma / GED / or equivalent required

Candidate should possess strong mathematical skills

Candidate should possess a strong work ethic, time management and troubleshooting skills, a positive attitude, and be detail oriented

Candidate should be familiar with word processing and other basic computer skills.

English language required
