My client is in need of a experienced Database Architect with at least 5 years of technical background in Database development, design, and architecture. Candidates in this position will be responsible for: Managing and maintaining MS SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008 Database Administration, Development, Design, and Architecture; Perform routine database administration/maintenance in MS SQL Server 2000/2005; Designing and implementing data architecture principles, components and standards, data architecture, data modeling, business intelligence and data warehouse architecture; Provide technical oversight to Data Warehouse and business intelligence design and development activities; Perform ETL development for complex procedures and performance tuning of database and ETL processes; Coach and mentor in the area of Data Warehouse architecture/Data Management along with working with DBA’s to restore database’s and provide access to users as needed.
To be considered for this position, candidates MUST have 5- 7 years experience writing SQL queries in SQL 2000/SQL 2005, and developing /supporting ETL package to support the data feed to and out of application database, including 5 years in MS SQL server experience including: SQL Server Analysis Services 2005/2008, SQL Server Reporting Services 2005/2008, SQL Server Integration Services 2005/2008. At least 2 years experience designing and tuning complex SQL statements, creating data models, designing and maintaining warehouses in SQL 2000/2005, maintaining/ designing all types of MS SQL Server Database replication, and developing the standards and best practices for Data Architects . Experience in training and mentoring of junior team members along with strong analytical and problem solving abilities, strong knowledge of software development life cycle and documentation skills. This position will also require candidates have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in MIS, Computer Science, or related field. Candidates that have experience in Healthcare industry is a plus!
