We are currently seeking an experienced, results-driven lending professional to join a growing financial institution as Senior Underwriter.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,

Monitor pipeline and ensure that team follows determined workflow
Perform an initial evaluation of member applications to determine if the application meets required standards of creditworthiness and purpose
Analyze credit information, verify debts, estimate monthly payments for any outstanding debts not listed on the application and add them to liabilities on application.
Communicate with members throughout the process, explaining, as necessary: the loan process, lending policies, interest rates, loan structuring, collateral insurance requirements, payoffs, etc.
Actively participate in ongoing efforts to continually improve customer service for internal and external customers.
Underwrite first mortgage loans, home equity loans and consumer loans in full conformity with Freddie Mac standards, NCUA, and Credit Union guidelines, and insure salability in the secondary market


Minimum Qualifications:



Thorough knowledge in automated underwriting systems to include Freddie Mac’s Loan Prospect Desktop Underwriter.
Associate must demonstrate the necessary competencies in personal computing and an intermediate knowledge of MicroSoft Word and Excel applications.
Requires experience in the use of computer applications for mortgage and consumer loan processing and underwriting (e.g., Loan Prospector).
Requires thorough knowledge of NCUA regulations, as well as the Credit Union's policies, procedures, programs, products and services as they relate to the lending function to ensure compliance
Requires at least three years of current 1st mortgage underwriting with FHLMC and or FNMA and home equities lending experience.
