My client has an immediate opening for an experienced, Editorial Director to collaborate with a broader team to develop and extend a unique tone and voice for the company's brand. My client is positioned well to revive an industry craving simplicity, ease and trustworthiness.

The position reports to and will partner directly with the Director of Creative Services to help build a world class internal creative services team. The Editorial Director will work closely with both internal and external partners.

Responsibilities Include:

* Lead the development, maintenance and updating of voice and tone guidelines
* Ensure on-brand copy is consistent with tone/voice
* Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop/enhance the online experience
* Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop/enhance print/sales materials for sponsors and participants who are working with company
* Responsible for consistent voice and education of adherence to the guidelines
* Hands on writer/individual contributor while establishing future needs for the department
* Building and managing a department which may include up to 2-3 writers and a proofreader as needed



Minimum Skills/Experience Required:

* 15+ years experience in writing, developing and extending brand guidelines
* Well versed in multi-channels including, online, print, advertising, broadcast, presentation, scripts
* In-depth understanding of functional disciplines across the Creative Services team
* Can switch easily from UI and instructional writing to marketing copywriting
* Excellent at turning a phrase that can fit on the head of a pin
* Excellent project management skills - drive and manage multiple projects with grace under pressure
* Exude a positive, can-do team-effort attitude; exhibit above-average, exceptional patience with processes and people
* 8 + years of developing, leading and managing teams of writers, proofreaders

* 10+ years of agency experience with a variety of clients—Financial Services is preferable
* 10+ years of proven track record of excellent client service
* Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, Marketing, Advertising writing
* Excellent oral communication skills
* Comfortable leading presentations and collaborating with C-level executives
* Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
* Proficient in Microsoft Suite
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent organizational skills
