Primary Responsibility – The Sales Manager is an individual contributor role in a senior sales environment that will focus solely on the Research Services segment (mainly corporations for business research and banking/capital markets institutions for financial research). This role will be responsible for developing new business within the US geography. The jobholder will be responsible for the entire sales cycle; from prospecting to closing the deal. The Sales Manager will be responsible for generating a pipeline of business in order to achieve a quota of $2.5MM - $3MM.
The jobholder is required to have a thorough understanding of the different and new trends emerging in the research services market. The Sales Manager has to have a global perspective and should be able to initiate the organization to provide better client solutions.
The jobholder is also responsible for maintaining relationships with clients where services are being delivered. The Sales manager is the single point of contact for all customer stakeholders. This role is one that makes things happen rather than restrict itself to coordination of activities.
The Sales manager will be involved in pricing negotiations with new clients and in the preparation of statements of work.
The Sales manager will liaise with different teams (Technology, Infrastructure, Human Resources, Operations, Legal & Compliance) to ensure that project timelines are met.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To win new business in the research services segment from customers like corporations and banking/capital markets institutions
2. To build a pipeline of prospective revenue opportunities in research services to achieve an annual revenue target of $2.5-3MM
3. To maintain an effective relationship with such customers at multiple levels (program management, operations etc)
4. To liaise with the offshore delivery centers to ensure delivery of services according to contracted terms
5. To negotiate pricing with customers, and build statements of work and pricing structures for knowledge services.
6. To interface with different teams (Technology, Infrastructure, Human Resources, Operations, Legal & Compliance) and to ensure that target timelines are met.
Qualifications, Essential Skills and Experience Required:
At least bachelor’s degree, preferably Graduate Education along with at least 8 years experience, of which 3 or more must be in selling outsourcing services.
Graduates (MBA/CPA/CFA) from a reputed institution
Candidates must have more than 8 years of total experience, of which 3 or more must be in selling outsourcing services, preferably research or related high-end/knowledge services.
Must have good analytical skills
Good knowledge of 1 or more Industry verticals is required (preferably, Financial Services)
Effective communication and presentation skills to work closely with middle and senior management stakeholders with global corporations are essential
