Civil Construction Estimator - Chicago Vicinity North.


We are updated this job position with a slightly changed focus on what they
need. We need someone who has done a mix of flat work and small building
estimation, someone who had their own business or was a Project Manager and
bid and executed smaller jobs. The reason we need someone like this is
because they are picking up a number of smaller jobs that have civil
components. Currently they have no one who can estimate the civil portion
such as small buildings or sidewalks or short runs of paving. They have to
rely on our subcontractors who don't necessarily get it right. They need
someone inside the firm to verify these numbers and give better bids.

Someone who has done heavy highway bids or the development of empty land
doesn't fit their needs.

Company works to build and strengthen America's infrastructure. As a
specialty contractor and subcontractor, they design and build major projects
across the United States.

Prepare accurate bids for projects involving civil (buildings and
structures).


Ensure compliance with general and special conditions of bids including,
insurance requirements, minority quotas (both contractor and work force) as
well as compliance with applicable codes.



Work closely with administration and marketing to prepare bid submissions.


MUST HAVE (FIRM)

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management.
2. Has done a mix of flat work and small building estimation preparing
estimates for bids.
3. Had their own business or was a Project Manager and bid and executed
smaller jobs such as small buildings or sidewalks or short runs of paving.
4. In Chicago or Northern Illinois with experience there.
