This position is the entry level for art prep. The artist in this position is knowledgeable of Macintosh computers and has some knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. They are mainly responsible for creating custom graphics for embroidery twill designs for use in digitizing. The artist in this position is responsible for creating high quality designs that are sensitive to aesthetics, while maintaining specific production and efficiency goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Produces high quality designs with a 96% accuracy rate and a minimum number of edits; Runs spell check on every graphic; Signs off on every order.

Meets production goals of an average 15-20 "new art" designs per day; Consistently produces an acceptable volume of work.

Meets Ship Date requirements and deadlines consistently; Turns rush orders around quickly.

Works on all types of orders and produces all types of art with great flexibility including Gear, Champion, Under Armour; cut files, art prep, and sketches.

Interacts in a positive and professional manner with supervisor, co-workers, and other departments.

Manages orders and workflow on desk and files art on server; Maintains approvals through licensing and customer art approval; Prioritizes work.

Understands functionality of Macintosh computer and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop software.

Understands the workings of the department, including the Embroidery processes, Art Creation, Order flow, Licensing, and Sew out Approvals

Completes projects correctly and on time, contributes overtime for daily or weekend work as needed

Maintains no attendance or tardiness issues; Is punctual for meetings.

Education/Experience:
College degree in Commercial Art or Graphic Art is preferred. Work experience in the graphic design field is a plus

Computer Skills:
Must have working knowledge of the Macintosh computer and Adobe Illustrator.
