Industry: High end residential furniture

Location: Northern Toronto Area

Salary range: depending on credentials and experience. Total compensation is mostly in the form of a regular base salary.

Working conditions: Full time. Job requires at times working on Saturdays and eventually traveling across Canada and to the US about 25% of time for some.

Company Description:

Our client is a renowned Canadian manufacturer of high end furniture for the residential market. They manufacture their furniture to order, which is sold to consumers through appropriately positioned retailers of all sizes (from Sears to specialized boutiques), not only in Canada, but also across the USA and in other international markets (Europe, Latin America, Middle East…)

Job Description:

The company is seeking to hire several professionals with solid sales skills in the same or a similar industry who are interested in investing themselves in a career development plan.

They will initially be assigned to the company’s flagship showroom which showcases, in a carefully merchandized and visually displayed manner, the company’s product lines. This showroom is visited by corporate retail firm buyers, interior designers, and other selected individuals and does not normally perform direct sales.

Their duty will be to provide the best possible experience to the visitors, and promote the products, and serve as a training ground. Saturdays being a very important events day, working on Saturdays in a mandatory requirement. (Mondays would be off)

Depending on skills, talent and abilities that the incumbents would demonstrate, their career will then evolve either towards increased responsibilities pertaining to the show room, (team leadership, merchandising and visual display, interior design consulting…) or towards external sales and account management, which can be country wide or international, and therefore require traveling.

Requirements:

1. Successful experience in relevant roles within a manufacturing company who makes products to order for the retail industry (furniture, fixtures, decoration, upholstery etc), or within a major retail corporation in these specialties.
2. Demonstrated sales, training, marketing and corporate customer handling skills. Superior Sales Skills are essential and mandatory.
3. Fashion oriented, able to communicate concepts in this field.
4. Willing to assume the traveling and Saturday working constraints.
