A&D Medical Director/Psychiatrist The Helen Ross McNabb Center (www.mcnabbcenter.org) is a premier not-for-profit provider of behavioral health services. The Center provides quality care and serves all ages in a continuum of prevention, early intervention, social, co-occurring, addiction, outpatient and crisis services. The Center is seeking motivated staff members that possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels and economic circumstances with respect and dignity. HRMC is currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic professional for the following position: A&D Medical Director / Psychiatrist. We are seeking a Medical Doctor of Addiction Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Psychiatry with a Buprenorphine waiver (or we will help you attain one) to serve as the Co-Occurring Medical Director of our Substance Use programming. Our services include: short term Inpatient Medically Monitored Crisis Detoxification, 28 or 90 days Residential Rehabilitation, MAT and other Outpatient Substance Use services. We use a team approach with APNs, master's level clinicians, RNs, milieu counselors and case managers - all overseen by a Medical Director. We diagnose, educate, treat, and aim towards helping clients and their families in their struggle with addiction.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Education/Knowledge: Must be a physician, licensed to practice medicine in Tennessee, who has successfully completed an approved psychiatric residency training program and is either Board certified or eligible for Board Certification in Psychiatry. Must be a full-time employee of the Center. Experience:Minimum of five years of successful full-time employment and practice of psychiatry. Must show evidence of successful direction of clinical programming and policy development. Must have positive clinical history w/behavioral health population. Physical: Normal outpatient psychiatric clinic environment. Exposure to biological hazards. Exposure to unpleasant odors. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Close eye work. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching JOB SUMMARY Provides and directs the provision of care for patients receiving clinical services at Centerpointe, John Tarleton, or other assigned clinical sites. The Medical Director Adult Services (MDA) is delegated the responsibility and authority to plan, organize, staff, lead, and control the operation management of the Medical staff for the Adult Services Department. The MDA is responsible to assure services are managed in such a manner to comply with community standard of care for psychiatry, state and federal laws, rules and regulations of outside regulatory agencies as well as Center Policy and Procedures. The MDA is responsible for the overall clinical efficacy of the Adult Services Department. The Medical Director must monitor medical staff practice to ensure quality of clinical work being performed, analyze QA/QI data to identify opportunities for improvement, provide clinical supervision of medical practitioners within Adult Services. Establish productivity standards in conjunction with the V.P. of Clinical Services (Specializing in Adult Services) and provide leadership for attaining goals. Provide direct care to the Adult population served and align medical staff resources with the needs of the organization. Excellent verbal, written and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as, maintaining proper documentation. Clinical staff members must be able to take and pass, without major modifications, a course in Handle with Care. This program requires hands-on, physical components to ensure the safety of the clients and staff. Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients.
