Job Summary: A manufacturing company is seeking an Accountant to play a crucial role in overseeing financial activities related to manufacturing operations. This position involves managing financial transactions, analyzing cost structures, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making within the organization.



Key Responsibilities:




  1. Cost Analysis and Management:



    • Analyze manufacturing costs and variances to identify areas for improvement.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain cost standards.




  2. Financial Reporting:



    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for manufacturing operations.

    • Generate cost reports, budget vs. actual analyses, and other financial reports as required.

    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.




  3. Budgeting and Forecasting:



    • Assist in the development of annual budgets for manufacturing departments.

    • Work closely with operational teams to gather relevant data for budgeting and forecasting purposes.

    • Provide variance analysis and explanations for budget performance.




  4. Month-End and Year-End Close:



    • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities for manufacturing accounts.

    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records during the closing process.

    • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.




Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Proven experience as an accountant in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.

  • Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.



Compensation:



  • $50,000 to $80,000 dependent on education or experience.
