Accountant

Job Summary: A manufacturing company is seeking an Accountant to play a crucial role in overseeing financial activities related to manufacturing operations. This position involves managing financial transactions, analyzing cost structures, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis and Management:
- Analyze manufacturing costs and variances to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain cost standards.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for manufacturing operations.
- Generate cost reports, budget vs. actual analyses, and other financial reports as required.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets for manufacturing departments.
- Work closely with operational teams to gather relevant data for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
- Provide variance analysis and explanations for budget performance.
Month-End and Year-End Close:
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities for manufacturing accounts.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records during the closing process.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as an accountant in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management highly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation:
- $50,000 to $80,000 dependent on education or experience.
