Software Development Lead

Primary responsibilities are:

• Work closely with Product Owners among Pharmacy Prescription Technology Solutions for understanding the functional and non-functional requirements of a system, service, or product offering


• Demonstrate leadership abilities across operation teams to evolve the existing software systems, infrastructure, and architecture as needed, SLAs, and continued operation within selected Linux/Windows OS, database, and integrated commercial pharmacy transaction software.


• Coordinate code development, testing and release and project planning with coordinated meetings as needed to ensure project tracking and completion. Accountable for the quality and timeliness of the deliverables


• Taking complete ownership of project management, influencing and improving the product development velocity and agile behavior of the team


• Coaching and Mentoring the team towards individual and team development and growth


• Providing staff management support including training, recruiting and customer management


• Contributing to continuous improvement in organizational structure, processes, and operations


• Providing product and technical leadership to all team members and driving innovation in technology & product ideas and proactively exploring opportunities to add value to overall organization

Critical Skills:

• Experience in C and C++ application server development with emphasis on real-time transactional systems


• Mandatory hands on experience in building and running onshore - offshore teams


• Expert at team management, customer management


• Windows and Linux or equivalent UNIX system/development experience.


• Understanding of DevOps practices (E.g.: Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Test Driven Development, Feature toggling strategies)


• Strong planning skills with proven track record of delivering on target


• Excellent presentation, written and communication skills

Additional Knowledge and Skills :

• 10+ years in a Software Development leadership role


• C/C++ Software Application Product Development techniques, including design, implementation, test and release.


• Experience in strong type languages (E.g.: C, C++, Java, C#)


• DevOps CI/CD tools such as Gitlabs, Perforce, Jenkins etc. desirable


• Experience in dynamic languages (E.g.: Java script, Python, Typescript)


• Experience with defect trackers (E.g.: JIRA)

Education:

• Undergraduate degree in computer engineering, computer science, related discipline, or equivalent
