Provide support to damage tolerance assessments with specific emphasis on the material science aspect of damage mechanisms, including the micromechanics of fatigue and fracture and environmental influences such as temperature effects and corrosion. Evaluate engineering issues relative to damage tolerance from traditional aspects (such as fracture mechanics, material properties, and standard analysis techniques), as well as support damage tolerance issues involving specific material-related phenomena.

BS degree (MS preferred) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution with a minimum of 1 year applicable experience with a focus on damage tolerance analysis and test data reduction is required. Relevant experience in solid modeling, finite element, and fatigue and fracture analyses is desired. Experience with MATLAB, NASGRO, ABAQUS, and PATRAN analysis software packages is also desired.
