Organization Objective/Purpose

On a monthly and quarterly basis, Profitability Analysis (PA) develops client segment, product and account profitability. PA utilizes an Activity-Based Costing Model to allocate traditional accounting expenses and income to business activities and revenue buckets. Data is further processed using key business drivers to push dollars to accounts, products, channels and client segments.

Profitability Analysis, under the Finance organization, provides financial analysis and business decision support for the entire company. The team helps business partners maximize profits, support strategic decision making and planning, understand business trends, and communicate client segment, product and account-level performance.

Position Responsibilities

The Profitability Analysis (PA) systems analyst owns the production of monthly and quarterly profitability reports and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely delivery of the reports. Day to day activities include performing production tasks, troubleshooting technology issues, identifying and implementing process improvements, performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of enhancements prior to production release, and maintaining production documentation. The PA Systems Analyst works with the other PA team members as well as interfaces with technology partners to implement solutions and enhancements. This position will not have any direct reports, and will be responsible for managing their own workflow while providing results.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Able to develop and support positive relationships with business partners


• Proficient in MS Excel and Word


• Strong SQL programming skills


• Experience with database querying and manipulating large data sets preferred


• Prior financial industry experience preferred


• Familiarity with the principles of accounting and activity based costing a plus


• Bachelors degree preferred
