JOB SUMMARY: 
Responsible for product development, premium growth, success and profitability of assigned product line(s). Provides leadership and guidance for product strategy and planning. Provides competitive position analysis, business performance analysis and business risk management to recommend actionable solutions. Responsible for the development and implementation of product training to all levels of underwriting. 

RELATIONSHIP: 
Reports to Underwriting Director. Direct reports: 0

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manages new product development including analysis and trends for product lines including due diligence, design, pricing and underwriting guidelines. 
2.Identifies and makes recommendations to senior leaders to increase profitability through new products and programs and opportunities to exit or restrict products/programs that may impact profitability.
3.Acts as senior level subject matter expert in one or more product lines.
4.Identifies and develops technical training. Provides technical consultation/direction to all levels of underwriting professionals. Performs internal underwriting audits for adherence to company guidelines.
5.Responsible for developing and maintaining open and trusting working relationships with general agents, and key internal business partners.
6.Provides technical consultation/direction to complex underwriting risks which require the highest level of technical skill and expertise. 
7.May coordinate workflow/assignments of support staff.
8.Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Undergraduate studies in insurance, finance, marketing, business administration. MBA preferred.

Licenses/Registrations/Designations: Insurance licenses or designations such as CPCU, ARM, CLU, FLMI, ChFC, CFP preferred.

Experience: Ten years in multi line excess and surplus lines insurance, including four years previous product management. Multi-line product experience preferred.

Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of underwriting policies and best practices, preferably E&S. In depth knowledge of pricing, marketing, insurance models and financial analysis. Industry knowledge to advise and create business plans based on profitability, growth and expectations.

Skills/Competencies: 
Excellent verbal and written communications and collaboration skills to effectively influence, train others and present information at all levels. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, problem solving skills. Must be skilled in the use of related systems and analytical skills. 

JOB CONDITIONS:

Overtime Eligibility: Not Eligible (Exempt).

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Travel as required.
