POSITION SUMMARY
The Fabrication Manager is responsibly for managing the weld / fabrication shops and assuring that all work is performed
in accordance with the company quality system, safety policies and customer requirements.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for managing day to day fabrication in weld shops and ensure compliance with the company quality
system in order to maintain high standards of quality, reliability and safety.
• Responsible for insuring that all shop employees follow documented instructions given on the shop orders in order to
control product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Responsible for development of all welding procedure specifications, which includes; raw material requirements,
testing requirements, welding, writing, and submittal of company welding procedures to customers for approval.
• Responsible for managing and controlling welding consumables and shop supplies in accordance with the company
Quality System and consumable manufacturer requirements.
• Responsible for administering & documenting the training of employees on new welding processes, fabrication
techniques and Post Weld Heat Treating (PWHT) according to shop operating procedures.
• Responsible for administering and documenting weekly safety meetings as they relate to fabrication.
• Responsible for interfacing with third party inspectors as required per quality requirements.
• Responsible for negotiating pricing on welding consumables and shop supplies in an effort to control and minimize
shop cost.
• General project management of sales orders which may involve interfacing with the customer, QA/QC and technical
services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
• A four-year technical degree in the field of welding and fabrication or equivalent experience required. Additional
class time in management courses, welding and NDE processes is also a plus.
• At least five years experience in managing technical personnel and complex activities. These experiences should be
gained in areas of manufacturing or technical operations and should include a minimum of two years in fabrication.
• Must have at least 5 to 10 years of broad technical experience, of which at least 3 years should be in welding
fabrication. Must also have a good working knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel Code.
• Must have a good understanding of welding processes used in the manufacturing process.
• Must have a good understanding of all NDE processes used in the manufacturing process.
• Must have good computer skills and knowledge of computer software (Windows, Word, Excel, Etc.).
• Must have a good understanding of production planning and Microsoft Project scheduling.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and or ASNT Certification is a plus.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• Good leadership and management skills are a must.
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to project manage and problem solve on a regular basis.
• Must be able to interface directly with customers and present positive company image.
