Our Food Manufacturing client in Decorah, IA area is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to join their team. This Facilities Manager will service as a key leader of the management team is responsible for ensuring ongoing maintenance and mechanical functions of the plant are operating smoothly and efficiently. This Facility Manager will supervise the Maintenance Manager and overall leadership to plant maintenance personnel ensuring proper staffing levels and skillsets. Oversees plant regulatory, sewer, and waste disposal systems as well as employee safety programs and OSHA.



 



Must Have:




  • Works with management to diagnose and solve problems relating to overall plant functions as key subject matter expert on maintaining the facility and all its equipment.

  • Supervise the Maintenance Manager and take responsibility for the overall leadership of Maintenance Technicians and related positions.

  • Ensure the preventive maintenance program is kept up to date to ensure minimal amount of equipment breakdowns and lost production time.

  • Manage the waste disposal system and required testing.

  • Oversee and coordinate activities of the environmental sanitation programs in compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Manage applicable regulatory inspections and issues related to building and equipment.

  • Troubleshoot facility mechanical and electrical issues.

  • Inspect the building structure to determine the need for repairs and renovations.

  • Oversee employee injuries and workers comp administration as necessary in coordination with HR.

  • Responsible for the administration and enforcement of all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.

  • Oversee and implement Safety Training Programs for new and existing employees.

  • Investigate all safety or injury incidents and work to find root causes.

  • Assist in regulatory inspections and customer audits.



 

Key Responsibilities:




  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Operations or Manufacturing Management or Business

  • 5+ years experience with production activities in a manufacturing environment.

  • Food Manufacturing background highly preferred.

  • 10+ years of production or maintenance experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of plant operations related to particle processing.

  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.

  • Understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations.
