Responsibilities:This position requires some experience in working with children, adults and families. This position provides quality counseling to children and families who seek such services from . The counseling services provided are intended to strengthen family life on behalf of children and to provide assistance to hurting people, guiding them towards spiritual, emotional and behavioral healing. The ideal candidate shall: be available to do a minimum of 1000 sessions per year; be willing and able to do their own marketing to start and increase their case load; be willing to work at the central CFCA office at 7th Avenue & Osborn in Phoenix; have a passion for working with children, adults and families; be able to support themselves financially while building a caseload with payment coming only upon completion of face-to-face client sessions. CFCA does not guarantee any number of counseling hours. QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a Masters degree in Counseling or other related field. Professional licensure is required (LPC or LMFT). At least one year of clinical experience counseling children and families is also required. Knowledge of counseling ethical and legal issues as they apply to child and family counseling is required. Experience with identification of abused and neglected children and adults; child development, individual and family functioning; working with hard to reach or resistant individuals and families; and collaborating with other disciplines and services is preferred. Knowledge of counseling practice and theory, specifically in areas of human development, group and individual theory, family systems therapy and Christian theology is required. Biblical integration is required. The position must model strength of character, Christian values and a healthy relationship with God, themselves and others. The position must also have a good understanding of counseling dynamics and methods in order to effectively counsel clients. Spanish-speaking is a plus..
