Job Title: Senior Software Developer
Location: Toronto
Department: Development Team
Responsibilities: - Conduct detailed analysis of software requirement specifications
- Develop and document detail system designs that meet requirements
- Develop and write java code using standard guidelines and design patterns
- Perform unit and integration testing and debugging of applications before transfer to the QA team
- Identify, analyze and resolve complex software inadequacies
- Participate in architecture review and high level design meetings
- Assist in project effort estimation and project schedules development to meet project needs
- Ensure assigned projects follow schedule, inform management of any unplanned slippages, and propose corrective measures
- Review all project documentation and provide input/validation
- Assist the QA team with the testing cycle of developed product/solution
- Provide technical guidance to more junior staff as required
- Make recommendations for changes to development guidelines and standards

Required Technical Skills: Must have Skills:
- Experience in a product development as well as system integration environment
- Understanding of full product/solution development life cycle, specifically RUP methodology
- Extensive understanding and experience with OO Design and Development
- Extensive experience in designing/developing large-scale J2EE applications
- Experience with at least on of the J2EE application servers (JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache Tomcat…)
- Experience with Jakrta Struts and Sprig Framework
- Experience with XML Parsing/Processing/Transformation using DOM, SAX, XSLT, JAXP, Xalan, Xercess
- Experience with various tools such as Ant, CVS, Junit, Eclipse
- Excellent knowledge of Unix (Solaris), Linux and Microsoft Windows deployment based solutions
- Strong knowledge for deployment of a distributed architecture

The following Skill are not required but will be considered an asset:
- Experience with one of the databases (Oracle, MySQL, DB2 MS SQL)
- Working knowledge of Message Broker, Enterprise Service Bus(ESB) Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
- Good knowledge of J2SE and J2EE Design patterns
- Excellent knowledge of scalability, high availability and performance tuning for enterprise solution. Wireless would be a great asset
- Experience with profiling J2EE applications and tuning the Application servers.

Education and Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Software Engineering, or equivalent
- More than 5 years of average experiences in software design/development
- More than 4 years of experience as a Java developer
- Minimum 2 years of experience in wireless telecommunication industry
- Certified Sun Java Programmer and Developer. Architect would be a great asset
