SUMMARY: Installs, modifies, and repairs personal computer hardware and software systems. Provides technical assistance and training to system users.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
弒dentifies and evaluates requirements of end users
嵯ocuments, prioritizes, and monitors all support calls
弒nstalls hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user's premises.
微oads specified software packages and programs into computer.
幌nters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
愛esponds to user inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems.
弒nstructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals.
愛ecommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems.
嵩oordinates activities with help desk, infrastructure, or other information systems groups.
愛eplaces defective or inadequate software packages.
愛efers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction.
愛esponsible for the handling of all user password issues.
愛esponsible for providing and coordinating conference room audio-visual needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
幌xperience and understanding of the I.S. environment
嫂bility to solve computer related problems and issues
感ositive and supportive communication style
媲asic knowledge of current software packages including:
Mac OS 9 and OS X
Microsoft Office 2003
Microsoft Outlook Calendaring Functions
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A+ Certification (CompTIA)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or combination of education and experience
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in help desk area or technical support services
