Job Description
Under general supervision, determines the most cost effective processes, methods, systems, tooling, equipment and plant layout to be used in the manufacturing of company products. Evaluates labor and operating costs for compliance with standards and stated cost objectives. Directs the duties and schedules of Tool and Die department. May develop short and long term manufacturing strategies and capital requirements, and actively participates in the development and introduction of new products.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field is preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years previous experience in a related manufacturing environment required directing the duties and schedule of the Tool and Die department.
Knowledge of techniques such as J.I.T. (Just In Time), Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Kanban, Manufacturing Cells, etc. required.
Experience with Bill of Materials.
Experience with manufacturing software such as AutoCad.
Experience with capital requests paperwork.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to communicate with various levels within the organization.
Ability to coordinate multiple activities.
Computer software, data entry, data retrieval and data analysis skills required.
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills required.
Frequent standing and walking in and throughout the plant/manufacturing environment.
Able to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays as required.
